Mysterious Lake George and Haunted Collector Tour

Join Tim the Yowie Man®, Australia’s only cryptonaturalist, on an evening of discovery as we explore mysteries of enigmatic Lake George and step back into the bygone era of bushrangers at one of Australia’s most historic (and haunted!) villages.
- Investigate the mysteries of Australia’s largest fresh water inland lake at a number of stops – walk onto the lake bed and even check-out a hidden convict canal.
- Indulge in a two course dinner in one of Australia’s oldest pubs, Collector’s 150 year old Bushranger Pub.
- Walk the streets old Collector Village (it’s not just ghost and ghouls, you’ll be surprised with what lurks in the hidden underbelly of this historic place).
- Embark on a ghost tour of the Bushranger Pub (if you dare!).
- Enjoy a fireside supper with mulled wine amongst a stone circle (Stonehenge replica).
Indicative tour itinerary
(Tim will provide you with confirmation at the time of booking). Please note that in the Daylight Savings period, times will be an hour later than indicated.
3:00pm. Pick-up: Yowani Country/Golf Club car park. Please aim to arrive at 2:50pm to ensure we leave on time.
3:00pm – 5:00pm: Investigate the mysteries of Australia’s largest fresh water inland lake at a number of lake-side stops. We’ll walk onto the lake bed and even check-out a hidden convict canal.
5:00pm – 630pm: Two course dinner in one of Australia’s oldest pubs – Collector’s 150 year old Bushranger Pub.
6:30pm – 745pm Walking tour of old Collector Village (it’s not just ghost and ghouls, you’ll be surprised with what lurks in the hidden underbelly of this historic village).
7:45pm – 830pm: Ghost tour of the Bushranger Pub (if you dare!).
830pm – 10:00pm: Return to Yowani Golf Club via a fireside supper with mulled wine amongst a stone circle (Stonehenge replica).
Note: these times are indicative only and are subject to change.
What to bring
- Appropriate clothing. It can get very cold at night even during the warmer months. Please bring a jacket. Beanies and gloves essential in winter. Closed foot wear (no high heels, sandals etc) is a must as we will be walking on uneven (and possibly wet) ground
- Umbrellas/raincoats (for rain and possibly ectoplasm!)
- Torches (preferably without dead batteries)
- Cameras (who knows what you might snap!)
- A sense of history and fun
Cost
$189 per person.
Extreme weather policy: The tour will proceed even in inclement (rain and snow) conditions. If there is a violent storm, floods, fire or other calamity (fish falls were once reported in the area!) the itinerary may be tweaked to ensure everyone’s safety.
Please note this tour is restricted to participants 16 years old and over.
