Old ANU by Torchlight
This tour is on hold due to significant storm damage at the ANU, but we hope to restart in late 2024.
Imagine a tour where you can:
- discover evidence of an ancient civilisation dating back thousands of years
- peek at the entrance to a tunnel built to protect citizens from a 1950s nuclear attack
- jump over a pond where a future Prime Minister took a risqué skinny dip
- try to avoid a building notorious for people regularly getting lost inside.
…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg… explore this fascinating part of Canberra, home to slab huts with convicts and ex-convicts even before the white settlement of Perth (1829) Melbourne (1836), or Adelaide (1836).
Brand new from the Tim the Yowie Man stable of historical tours around Canberra, in conjunction with Amy Jarvis, the ANU Heritage guru comes the ‘Old ANU by Torchlight Tour’.
